How To Grow Your IG Business Account - Without Losing Your Hair

In the first beginning...

You need to realize and own that this will not happen overnight.

The IG algorithm has tripped up some of the most experienced marketers. No one has all of the answers, and no one has a magic formula or step by step guide.

Secondly –

STOP comparing yourself to other accounts

Here’s the real real: You will hardly ever find 2 accounts the same. Although they may look similar on the outside, you have no idea of the story behind them.

For Instance, you don’t know if the owner already had a widespread reputation in their community, or if they have a generous budget for sponsored ads

, or even if they have a family member or know someone with influence.

All of these things can make a big impact on account reach and engagement.

Another No-No: Don’t listen to every “marketing expert” that you come across.

You will quickly find a host of conflicting information leading to a loss of focus and frustration.

Carefully vet who you consume information from.

Look for cited references in their content, and take the initiative to follow up and research. Your source needs to earn your trust and respect.

And that shouldn’t be determined by how many followers they have (more on that in a later post).

Once you identify someone who consistently puts out accurate and useful information, add them to your go-to tribe for info on issues and topics that matter to you.

Don’t be afraid to engage and interact with them. Ask questions. Spark a conversation that would be beneficial for you and anyone else reading the comments later.

After all, that’s what social media is supposed to be, right…social??

And Lastly...

Create a strategy🥅

Clearly define your brand.🆔. Identify your target audience🎯, and tell your story. Remain true to your brand and relevant. 🙅🏽‍♀️Don’t post just for the sake of posting. Make sure your content is something that will benefit your audience. Is it entertaining 🤣? Educational ✅? Inspiring 👊🏽? People really don’t like being sold to. Instead, they like feeling like they are in control and decide when and what they purchase, and they are much more likely to purchase from a brand personality that they actually like.🤩
